CASTING CALL
Auditions for RENOVATIONS
Huronia Players is holding OPEN AUDITIONS for "RENOVATIONS," a Comedy by Elizabeth Elwood, directed by Doris Sloan.
AUDITION DATES:
Thurs Feb 4 & Sun Feb 7th
at the Studio Theatre
427 William St Midland
7:00PM Start
The actors required are:
4 Females (2 aged 40-60, 1 age 25-50, 1 age 16-25 yrs)
and
5 Males (3 aged 40-60, 1 aged 25-50, 1 aged 16-25yrs).
Production run will be Apr 29-May 15, 2010.

2010 Youth Theatre Arts Academy

We are very excited to have Riona Sutherland further develop the Theatre Arts Academy started
in 2008 by Betony Main. Riona is new to our area and
brings seven years experience teaching youth
drama.
The Huronia
Players Theatre Arts Academy is pleased to offer two
introductory courses in theatre arts to be held at The
Studio. No prior experience? No problem.
The initial registration is completed, but there is still room for an additional 8 students in the Intro course and 12 in the Theatre Arts program.
Introduction to Theatre Arts (Ages 8-12)
Monday evenings 6:45-8:00 PM
(8 weeks, Jan. 18-Mar. 8) $110
Theatre Arts Academy (Ages 13-16)
Monday evenings 8:15-9:45 PM
(8 weeks, Jan. 18-Mar. 8) $120
Classes will be at The Studio, 427 William Street, Midland.
Class sizes are limited. Registration is on a first
come, first served basis.

Huronia Players is looking for directors for the 2010-2011 season. Prospective directors may choose from a list of selected plays or bring a play to the Directors Selection Committee for consideration.

The CrewCut
Huronia Players Technical Call
Tuesday September 1, 7 p.m. at the Studio
The season’s plays have been selected, the directors chosen and now we need the clever technical people to make it all happen. Anyone interested in technical theatre roles including lighting, sound, set building, props, wardrobe, painting, front-of-house (refreshments and ushering), or stage managing is invited to attend this meeting on:
September 1 at 7p.m.
at The Studio,
427 William Street, Midland, Ontario.
The directors of each of the plays will be present and will outline the plot and the technical challenges in the play. You can then let them know if some part of the theatrical process interests you and what talents you might have to share. No previous theatre experience is necessary (except for the stage managing role) as we have experts who will train you to become part of the team.

A New Coat of Paint
You may have missed the painting party, but it is hard not to miss the results. The newly painted very blue building looks great, if a bit unusual at the moment. This is the first step in the revamping of the front face of the building. Yet to come - a very large “Huronia Players” logo and the entrance structure. Thanks to the 17 enthusiastic members who made it happen.

Don't Miss the Cue
September 12, 3p.m.
All Huronia Players Members are invited to the third annual barbeque, entitled "The Cue."
Good times are to be had by all, no exceptions. Don't forget to buy your tickets before showing up (wouldn't that be awkward). Here's what you need to know:
