SUMMERSTOCK 2010
A unique opportunity of young actors 16-24
A new program for young actors and theatre techies in the Midland area to improve their skills and enjoy the summer. Some of our best actors and directors, including Sue Cook, Doug Ironside and Ron Payne, will be leading workshop sessions. They, along with the actors, will decide what the outcome of the summer will be - skits, or one act plays, or improv, or who knows what else. Sessions will be 2 evenings a week in July and August. Our directors are volunteering their time so the cost is only $20 per person. Limited to 12 people ages 16-24. If you want to be one of the select few to enjoy this program, please send us an e-mail (see "contact info/general inquiries")

Theatre Academy 2010
Photos from the workshop performance.

Both the young actors from the 'Introduction to Theatre Arts' and the seniors from the 'Theatre Academy' performed a work-shopped production of their respective plays for an appreciative audience of parents and friends on June 5, 2010. 'Camp DonnaWannaHafta' was written by our director Riona Sutherland and 'Bad for Business' was written by Dave Burgess. Author Dave and his wife made a special trip from Nebraska to view the performance.
Many thanks to Riona Sutherland for her direction and perseverance, to the parents for entrusting us with their children, and to the fine young actors for their dedication to theatre arts.

MIDLAND CULTURAL CENTRE
gets the green light.

Midland's downtown will see a new Cultural Centre that will be the home of Huronia Players, Quest Art Gallery and an Event Centre.
It has been a long and adventurous road that has led us to this wonderful announcement - we will have a new 120 seat theatre as part of the new Midland Cultural Centre. Our long time friend and supporter, Reinhart Weber, is providing this gift to Midland for local artists of all sorts to show their talent and for local residents to enjoy it.
We are so fortunate to be part of this dynamic development on the property of the old Roxy movie theatre. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2011. We'll keep you informed.
